Why couldn't you just make a good star fox game without all the gamepad crap?

I'm looking forward to trying it. Sometimes game reviewers can be overly critical of Nintendo imo. Now if only the Wii U price would come down a bit. Kind of stupid that it's the same price as an Xbox One
